Plateau-Mont-Royal · In person or online
One-on-one classes in math, French and English for Plateau and Mile End families, from elementary school to CEGEP. Meet at home, at a neighbourhood library or online, whichever fits your week best.
Price$35 to $55 / hour

Many Plateau and Mile End families live in apartments or duplexes where the kitchen table doubles as a desk, which is not always the best place for an hour of focused work. That is why we offer three options: the tutor comes to your home, you meet in a quiet public place such as a local library, or the class happens live online. In-person locations depend on tutor availability, but your child keeps the same tutor every week.
A lot of anglophone and allophone parents in the area have children in French school, and that is often where the questions start: a child who speaks French well but struggles to write it, or a teen facing the Secondary 5 French writing exam. We also help with Secondary 4 math and with English itself. The free first class shows where your child really stands, and after every class you get a short written report by email and in your parent space.

For students heading to Cégep du Vieux Montréal or another college, we review functions and prepare Calculus I before the first semester.
Our students come from schools such as École Le Plateau at the elementary level and École secondaire Jeanne-Mance, as well as private schools nearby. Our tutors follow the Quebec curriculum, so they know what is assessed in each term and when the ministry exams come up.
For in-person classes, the Bibliothèque du Plateau-Mont-Royal and the Bibliothèque Mordecai-Richler in Mile End are convenient places to meet. With Mont-Royal, Laurier and Sherbrooke stations on the orange line, a teenager can get there alone after school. The Cégep du Vieux Montréal is also a short ride away for students who move on to college math.
Choose the subject and a free time slot. We assign a qualified tutor.
The tutor assesses the level and finds what is blocking.
After every class, a short report arrives by email and in your parent space.

Yes, in the Plateau as elsewhere in Montreal, depending on tutor availability. If your apartment is noisy or tight on space, a neighbourhood library or an online class works very well.
Yes, a quiet public library is often a good place for a class. You choose the spot with the tutor when scheduling, based on their availability and the library's opening hours.
Yes, this is one of the most common situations we see. Classes can be explained in English while the work itself is done in French, so your child understands the rules and still practises the language of the classroom.
$35 an hour for elementary, $45 for high school and $55 for CEGEP. The first class is free, with no contract and no registration fee, and packages of 8 or 12 classes save 5% or 10%.
