When a student moves into a regular class, we strengthen reading, grammar and writing so they can keep up. See our French classes.
Saint-Laurent · In person or online
A borough where dozens of languages are spoken, two CEGEPs a few streets apart and many students who have only recently started learning in French. We support each one at their own pace, in person or online.
Price$35 to $55 / hour

Every year Saint-Laurent welcomes many families who have just arrived in Quebec. For their children, the challenge comes twice: learning French and, at the same time, keeping up in math, science and every other subject in that new language. A tutor who can explain an idea in English or Persian, then rework it in French, often saves a lot of frustration.
At the other end of the journey, the borough is home to two CEGEPs: Cégep de Saint-Laurent, which teaches in French, and Vanier College, which teaches in English. First-year math courses there are a real hurdle for many students. Whether it is an elementary student or a CEGEP student, classes take place at home or in a quiet public place depending on tutor availability, or live online.

A student may know how to solve an equation but get stuck on the wording. We work on reading word problems carefully. More on the math page.
Limits, derivatives, integrals and series for students at Vanier and Cégep de Saint-Laurent. See CEGEP calculus tutoring and common Calculus I mistakes.
Matrices, vectors and vector spaces with plenty of practice. Our linear algebra class follows the NYC content.
Preparation for the Secondary 4 ministry exam and for the TS or SN prerequisites that many CEGEP programs require.
ESL for students in French school, or English language arts for students in the English system. Details on the English page.
French public schools in the borough belong to the Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys. Students who arrive in Quebec without enough French often start in a welcome class (classe d'accueil) or receive language support, then join a regular class. That transition is often when one-on-one help matters most, because the level of French expected suddenly rises in every subject.
For in-person classes, the Bibliothèque du Boisé is a practical, quiet place to meet. Côte-Vertu and Du Collège stations on the orange line make the trip easy for a teenager or a CEGEP student finishing classes in the late afternoon.
Choose the subject and a free time slot. We assign a qualified tutor.
The tutor assesses the level and finds what is blocking.
After every class, a short report arrives by email and in your parent space.

Our classes are given in English, French or Persian. For a newcomer, hearing a concept in a language they already master, then practising it in French, often helps them move faster.
